Ongoing Book Sale

Hundreds of books on shelves in the lower level. Some media, too.

Donate Books

Like-new books will be considered for additions to our collection, distribution to other agencies, or our ongoing book sale.

We prefer that our librarians can examine materials and choose from them, looking especially for things we might want on our own shelf, or would recommend to others. Materials would be evaluated on the basis of potential interest to public library patrons. We generally don't want highly technical materials or higher-level textbooks. We tend to reject older books in rapidly changing areas such as consumer health, computers, and travel guides, with some exceptions. If you can send a list of books or at least tell us about some of them, that's helpful.

We have high standards for the condition of materials. Books are ideally stored on shelves and kept free of dust, in medium humidity, and without extreme fluctuations in temperature. Books that are soiled or show signs of drying from moisture may present mold hazards and be beyond our ability to rehabilitate, and could have a potential for mold growth which could spread to other books. It takes longer for us to find new homes for material that is soiled or has odors, and we don't have the space to store them or air them out.

That said, we will consider material of potential historical interset for our own special collections case or to try to locate another agency that might want them.

To arrange to drop off material you can send email to info@mohrlibrary.org or leave a message for the Library Director at (401) 231-4980.
